Terms of Use

Last updated: 22 July 2026

These terms cover the iPhone app DoomIt and this website. The provider is [provider name], [address], reachable at support@doomit.app.

1. What the app does

DoomIt manages a daily budget of minutes for apps you select yourself and blocks them through Apple’s Screen Time once the budget is spent. You earn additional minutes with phone-free hours inside your night window and with exercises in the app.

2. Licence

You get a simple, non-transferable right to use the app on the devices tied to your Apple ID. Not permitted: reverse engineering beyond what the law allows, distributing modified versions, and running the app in order to defeat its blocks for other people.

3. Requirements

The app needs iOS 17 or later and your Screen Time (Family Controls) authorisation. Without it, it cannot block apps or measure usage. Camera, motion data and notifications are optional; without them you lose individual challenges or reminders, and the rest keeps working.

4. What the app does not do

DoomIt is a self-regulation tool, not a medical device and not therapy. It diagnoses nothing and treats nothing. If screen use is causing you real distress, please seek medical or therapeutic help.

The block is deliberately reversible: revoke the permission or delete the app and the selected apps are available again. A block on your own device that cannot be undone does not exist, and we don’t promise one.

Measurement and crediting depend on Apple’s system services. Delayed or missing system events can mean minutes are credited late or not at all. There is no claim to a specific number of earned minutes.

You perform the exercises at your own risk. Make sure you have clear, non-slip space and stop if something hurts.

5. Purchases

If the app offers paid features, purchase, billing and cancellation run exclusively through the App Store. Subscriptions renew automatically under Apple’s rules and are managed and cancelled in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are granted by Apple, not by us.

6. Availability and changes

We keep developing the app and may change or remove features. We announce material changes to these terms in the app or on this page before they take effect.

7. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for damage arising from injury to life, body or health. For ordinary negligence we are liable only for breach of essential obligations that make proper use possible in the first place, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Liability is otherwise excluded. Liability under product liability law is unaffected.

8. Minimum age

The app is intended for users aged 13 and over. Younger users need consent from a parent or guardian.

9. Ending use

You end use by deleting the app. That also removes the data stored on the device; we hold no backup, because we hold no copy.

10. Governing law

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. Where permitted, the place of jurisdiction is [city].

11. Trademarks

Apple, iPhone and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. DoomIt is not affiliated with Apple and is neither sponsored nor endorsed by Apple.
